With DVD Genie
you can modify the region code for the most popular software-based DVD players such as WinDVD
and Software Cinemaster.
DVD Genie can only be used with region-free DVD drives. For region-protected DVD drives, DVDFab
is recommended to play all region DVDs.
One thing you need to consider, though, is that RPC-2 DVD drives (launched after 2000) allow you to switch the DVD drive’s region only 5 times.
An additional feature of DVD Genie is enabling you to select which application is used when a disc is inserted into the DVD drive. Moreover, DVD Genie enables full screen Zooming on wide screen movies with certain players.
The last version of DVD Genie, 4.10, was upgraded to work with Windows XP region systems, which should be identical to the system used in Windows 2000.
Various other fixes were made to this DVD region changing application, such as: the CoolDVD region code working with CoolDVD v.2.40; a minor change to the mechanics of the WinDVD reset region function; new buttons for registering and unregistering the PowerDVD DirectShow filters; two new audio range values for users to try and a new button on the PowerDVD tab for getting the PowerDVD DirectShow filters.
Furthermore, some compatibility fixes have been made to help the WinDVD 4.xx settings work.
By installing DVD Genie to your computer, you will be able to use region-locked DVD players with any DVD disc.
Modify the region of your favorite DVD media player and enjoy playback of all discs and compatibility with popular DVD software such as CoolDVD and WinDVD.
You will have access to new, undocumented options for optimizing your media player.
