DirectShow Filters for Ogg Vorbis, Speex, Theora, FLAC and WebM 0.85.17777

4.24 from 17 Reviews

It is a compact yet comprehensive package of tools which allow you to play Vorbis, Ogg Speex, Ogg Theora and Ogg FLAC with Windows Media Player or any DirectShow based media player.

It adds support for: .flac, .oga, .ogg, .ogv, .spx, .weba and .webm files.

Before installing this pack to your computer, make sure you eliminate any previous versions of these filters and that all DirectShow applications, including media players, are closed.

Otherwise, Windows Media Player will display multiple identical file masks or you may deal with codec conflicts.

Conflicts may also appear when you have had, for instance, a Vorbis tool on your computer and it was not properly uninstalled.

By deploying these tools to your computer, your will benefit from extensive support for the Xiph.Org formats in Windows and using DirectShow applications.

Besides enabling you to work with a variety of media formats, this pack allows you to use them for commercial applications, too, and to handle them in a .NET media player.

Some limitations of this pack are not being able to play in certain conditions files with names containing special characters (such as Japanese) and not offering support for chained multiplexed files and streams.

The last release of DirectShow Filters for Ogg Vorbis, Speex, Theora, FLAC and WebM was in 2011, when version 0.85.17777 appeared. It featured the following changes: updates of libvpx, webmdshow, libvorbis, libtremor and libtheora; added "controls" attribute to HTML5 < video > ActiveX plugin; fixed Speex playback, fixed graph freeze when a Vorbis Decoder filter was connected to the output of a Vorbis Encoder filter etc.

This package is the perfect choice for anyone needing support for all Xiph.Org formats in DirectShow based applications. Now you can work with your Ogg Vorbis, Ogg Theora, Ogg Speex and Ogg FLAC files on your computer or share them online.
