Matroska Splitter is a piece of software working as a DirectShow splitter filter for the MKV format.

This filter is necessary even if you don’t work with MKV files, because the Matroska container can be found in almost any format. You can use GSpot, AVIcodec or other codec identifier in order to find out what codecs you need in order to play your media files. Matroska Splitter provides support for Microsoft MPEG4 V3, MJPEG, ProRes, SNOW and various types of uncompressed video. Additionally, it supports the "A_OPUS" identifier, HEVC/H.265 and VP9. This version of application fixed a crash on some MKVs and added support for AVS3 video codec.
