Foobar2000 Free Encoder Pack is a piece of software including all natively supported free encoder binaries which are used by the foobar2000 audio player.
The binaries are placed in a subfolder of the foobar2000 installation folder.

The latest versions of foobar2000 are capable of recognizing encoders automatically, which means you will be no longer asked about the encoder binary location.

There are several encoders contained by this application, and during installation process, you have the possibility to choose those components you need rather than needing to install the entire pack.

This pack excludes encoders that the developer cannot legally distribute, such as MP3 and AAC; instead, it offers to install for you the following encoders:

- FLAC, Ogg Vorbis, Opus, Musepack, WavPack, Apple Lossless (refalac), AAC + Apple lossless (qaac) and AAC (fhgaacenc).

The last two encoders require iTunes, respectively Winamp to be installed on your computer. Another obvious requirement is to have foobar2000 installed, too, along with the Converter component.

foobar2000 Free Encoder Pack is an essential piece in the foobar2000 puzzle. It makes it possible to enjoy all the benefits of the well-known audio player and it supports its encoding options.

- It requires foobar2000 v1.1.14 or newer, with the Converter component installed.
