is serving as a graphical user interface for the x265 Encoder
(x265.exe). This application uses FFMpeg, x265 and mp4box to convert video files to HEVC streams.
What you need to do is just extract the files, then copy the x265GUI.exe from “exe only” archive over older file. Updating is simple, too.
If you want to use the latest version of the x265 Encoder with X265GUI, you have to download the latest x265.exe
and copy it into the "x265gui\tools" folder, over older file.

The x265GUI is still in alpha stage, and this is why its developers recommend you to be more careful when using it. The latest versions of this GUI have been added a "-raw" option to the avs2yuv command chain.
The main purpose of this virtual item is to offer you a complete experience of the x265 project. x265GUI is one step further in transferring the quality and speed capabilities of x264, a predecessor, to the new H.265 compression standard.
The series of applications for this new standard allow you to get the same image quality at a double data compression ratio or to produce better video quality while maintaining the bit rate.
Making a shift to a new technology may seem complicated in the first place, but with applications such as the x265GUI, user-friendliness is ensured and the HEVC standard is one step closer to being adopted by the majority.
x265GUI will surely have its place among the applications offering support for the new revolutionary format.
Being a GUI, this program makes your work much easier and it is more user friendly compared to a command-line interface.
