Wonderfull!!! I used the K-Lite but this is lighter, better arranged, no messes with Windows Media Player Codecs, etc. BUT, where is the MPEG-4 support? This is a big failure.

I was getting REALLY frustrated about not having sounds when I'd play my dvds on my laptop. They used to play just fine, until I got the computer reimaged. I was skeptical about downloading this at first, but the sound's back!

I rate this good because I cant rate it at all yet. I just bought a sony burner and Nero will only let me see the video on a DVD they want $50.00 for me to have sound. I have downloaded the xp codec into C drive but i still cant get sound however sound does work for AVI's & cd"s. After all the goodreviews I"ve read here I suppose I done something wrong. Can someone please tell me where & how to install & get sound for my DVD's?

hello, why this pack bloc my cam on camfrog tchat ??? It seems the problem is in the ffdwshow. If I remove it and install K-lite all works fine.

I have spent months trying to get WMP and WMC to play a DVD. One would think, that having spent the extra brass for WMC, you would get the codecs. But NO.
A download after searching the 'nett for months has found me able to use my HDTV and WMC, although having a problem still with WMP.
Shame Microsoft. Thanks XP Codec. Will keep this link posted with WMP.

oh my god, wow, thank you, a1 5 star, tip top, fantastic.
wasted time and money via widows, microsoft etc etc who offered up a load of mumbo jumbo and lost leaders that took me further away from a remedy.
then, via google search found you guys ...
downloaded and sorted for free, after many hrs of bs and rip offs ...........

Currently I am running Windows Vista Business on Intel Core 2 - 6600@2.40GHz with 2 GB Ram. Also with Nvidia GeForce 7900GTX - two cards bridged, SLI.
And still couldn't run many DVD's.
This XP Codec Pack 2.4.1 installed perfectly and everything has run perfect since. Well done guys, well done.

I installed this, and after that my players acted like if there wasn't any codecs installed at all! I had to download the DivX codec to be able to watch videos, and I still can't watch all my videos, so I still need to download something. Maybe an Xvid?
P.S.: My video files aren't corrupt, becouse they can be played fine on an other computer, so it's the codec pack, witch ain't worth nuts.

I had trouble with DVBViewer, it said it can't render video stream or such...
I installed XP codec pack and that was all I had to do.
No problems any more.

After downlaoding wmp 10 my player would not play mp3 files. I installed k-lite and it still would not work, something about id3 tags.
I downloaded xp codecs and now all of my mp3 files and movie files play without a glitch.

I used K-Lite and was looking for a codec pack with less (or no) unnecessary stuff in it. So i tried XP Codec Pack after reading good reviews. After installing i tried loading up a dvd i ripped to my hard drive. Sadly, media player classic started to freeze when i skipped a chapter or clicked a button in the menu. I reloaded several times but it kept happening. I never had that before and when i installed K-lite back the problem was gone. I'm no expert so it was no use messing with the settings.
