XP Codec Pack 2.5.9
I loved the old version, with the new version I can't see the subtitles. Hate it. Put the old version available to download.
XP Codec Pack 2.5.5
Great pack, the latest version helped me playing some files on Windows XP.
It would be nice to have file association with media files.

I install this pack of codecs and now I have sound during playing DVD with Media player 11. Good codecs. Thanks a lot, nice job.
XP Codec Pack 2.5.1
Bitcontrol wanted $15 to register. I uninstalled their codec and installed this one - great stuff it worked first time. Thank you.
XP Codec Pack 2.5.1
If you had used to play pirate vcopy of copy-protected disc there is absolute no codec/player that will play the disc correctly. Use Alcohol 120% or DVDFAB to make good copy of your original disc.......
XP Codec Pack 2.5.1
Just downloaded a movie and had no sound on WMP. I installed this codec and it works great
XP Codec Pack 2.5.1
Have the haters read the description for this codec?
It's clearly marked as an AUDIO codec that will play some video... or at least that's all I've used it for.
In that regard; I've used this codec for more than 5 years with No Problems at all. In fact I use the (included) Gabest Media Player Classic for all my PC audio/video needs, and have since deleted my other media players!
Excellent product.
Highly Recommended.

OK, it does what it's intended to do quite well and appears to be stable, too. However, it's pretty limited where playback of video/audio formats are concerned. If you want a greater range of codecs that covers everything bar the kitchen sink, then install one of the K-Lite Codec Packs instead. Unlike the XP Codec Pack, K-Lite is regularly updated, too.
XP Codec Pack 2.5.1
About two weeks ago, my CPU got the 'XP Home Security' virus...to make a VERY LONG story short, my work files (after soooo many hours of creating new user profile, downloading antivirus software, and almost losing my mind) which need Windows Media Player, would sound like chipmunks gone amuk!!!
I had racked my brain trying to 'fix' this problem. Thank goodness I found this Codec Pack/site! After downloading and installing the XP Codec Pack, I now can use my WAV pedal again and my work files sound fine...NO MORE CHIPMUNKS :)
