Unlike similar software, ID3-TagIT can extract information from the directory structure and use it in tags.

Other major features of ID3-TagIT are organizing files into folders, supporting any ID3v1 and ID3v2 function and handling various comments and genres.

ID3-TagIT’s interface is a bit cluttered, but even so, its main features are easy to detect and use. One of the most important functions in this software is tag editing.

The application opens a dialog where you can start editing tags; not all tag entries were supported in ID3-TagIT’s last version. Moreover, you can edit multiple tags at the same time or remove tags or their entries.

Music file information can be transferred either from tag to filename or the other way around. Users are free to create their own formats. You will always get the desired results with less work as the case conversion feature allows you to easily correct the case in filenames and tag entries.

Furthermore, you can organize your files by sorting your MP3 files into folders using the information from the ID3 tags. Transfers of information between ID3v1 and ID3v2 tags are also possible.

An advanced option is analysis, where you can compare the filename with the tag information and detect duplicate files and mismatches.

Although ID3-TagIT’s development has been discontinued, the application is still useful to anyone looking for a free and easy method of organizing the information in their MP3 file tags.
