CSS decryption tools

CODECS.COM is operated from various countries and is not aimed at any particular country or area of the world. For this reason, we do not consider it necessary to remove from our website tools that can decrypt the CSS copy protection used on DVD-Video discs.

Check your local law first

If you live in the United States, Germany or any other country with laws prohibiting the use of these tools, you are not allowed to download them.

If you are unsure of your own country's law on this issue, we strongly recommend that you get professional legal advice from a qualified person before downloading such tools.

Removing software components

Forced removal of targeted components or software can, in some cases, cause unwanted side effects, such as losing your Internet connection or changes to your Internet settings.

Use your own judgment when assessing risks and removing software. When available, use the standard uninstall procedure provided with the software. Ultimately, you are responsible for the software running on your own computer.

End-User License Agreements (EULA)

It is important to understand and abide by the End-User License Agreements of any applications on your computer that may be affected by removing any part of their software.

We do not condone, support or endorse using any application after the targeted components bundled with it have been removed. Doing so may violate the applicable EULA, and could be considered illegal or unethical.

For this reason, we strongly recommend that you uninstall such programs, as this may be a condition of their continued use.
