Realtek HD Audio Codecs 6.0.9749.1 UAD reviews
Come on guys when we ask for a driver we expect to get one, not go around in circles looking for the right download group to have a driver. Is false advertising.
When you pay for new software, the idea is that you get useful new features but this is the exact opposite. Realtek is truly a disappointment
windows 7 disables the stereo mix for DRM reasons,i guess. You must enable in record devices, right click in frontmic and select show disabled devices
bye
using 3 realtek onboard sound since xp, vista, win7, now with alc889,games, music, everything nice
My computer crashes everytime cuz of it! Until a very good quality audio comes out and provides it for the next 20yrs...
I would recommend everyone in the world to use it and support them!
I am quite surprised, Realtek is by far the EASIEST and most SIMPLE audio solution out there, and even their Gigabit LAN solutions are far better than nVidia for on board.
If you didnt have Realtek onboard, you know what you would end up with, right??? Also, if you havent used computers for a long time, I could see running into issues, because there are a plethora of hardware designs, software, manufacturers, ETC.
It is not up to Realtek. Motherboard manufacturers implement the Realtek offerings. Each is has certain capabilities and capacities and the mobo manufacturer decides what to use and offer. Any late ALC8xx series and ALC89x series are literally on par with most dedicated sound cards out there. Also to those complaining, do research instead of complaining so you know how to configure and optimize for YOUR environment.
Almost every PC is unique in terms of hardware, software and OS, there are millions of hardwaresoftware combinations alone. But, I have read far too many problems on here, that I immediately knew the answer to, yes, for 20+ year PC hardwaresoftware veterans any problem involving Realtek or any onboard audio hardware or software issue should be simple.
Unless the mobo is faulty, the drivers are so basic and function does not need a complex driver, theres just not much that CAN go wrong besides user error and lack of experience knowing how to set up Realtek onboard properly.

But under windows7, you dont want to know how frakkin bad it is! If you want win7 and have realtek codec, you will be very, very sad about the sound quality!! Yes, i am very sad right now, it has so much bug, and the sound is really weird...
I have to use asio to listen any music, because without that its popping and creaking. Tried everything but nothing helps.
Thinking about buying a REAL sound card...
Here's the low down on this,
Recording is messed up. It's just complete garbage. Recording properly is impossible with this.
Sounds are a bit weird. How did some companies get messed up with this? Maybe because they were cheaper to work with.
You wanna know why I came here to download the codec? Their website does not work properly and prevents me from downloading the codec straight from their site. Call whoever/whatever gave you the computer with this, and demand something. You've wasted time and money with this. I had bought two microphones because of this, thinking that my first one was broken. Upon using the second, I knew it was this d**n Realtek garbage.
PROBLEM: when i connect my speakers (genius sw 5.1 6000 - 200 wats) on my realtek board (alc883) on windows vista> in the rear speakers the volume is very poor and the voices from mp3\'s almost do not exist. Anyone knows how to resolve this issue?? Please help me!!!
l am fully aware the problem here is not just realtek, lt ls also toshiba's fault for not labeling the box as junk audio, can't hear anything, not even windows startup sound very well. Until realtek/toshiba ""VlCTlMS"" are offered new drivers and more than likely, new speakers so the new drivers can be supported, this problem is only going to get worse by removing the .dat files. l have already noticed removing the .dat files has caused my audio input(mic) quality to go scratchy and static sounding. On top of this, after removing the .dat files, my audio output fluctuates at least once DAlLY. (ie. kicks in high and then low audio output. AND l'm not talking about a bad headset/mlc or set of speakers. These are the "limitations" of this awful machine.) This is a serious issue and misrepresentation!
Everyone that owns a pc with these realtek issues should get together and maybe finally get the proper outcome we deserve.
