Install K-lite full pack... but still make your gomplayer as your default player.. it should play MP4 without having a problem...
It screwed up Explorer so it kept crashing with a Data Execution Prevention error, and Premiere wouldn't even load.
As an addendum to my previous comment, Windows Restore is your friend for getting rid of this codec pack. Boot into safe mode first.
clean and works great. thanks- v1.46
1) Install K-Lite Mega Codec Pack or Real Alternative first. You\'ll see the following directory:
C:\\Program Files\\K-Lite Codec Pack\\Real\\Codecs
2) Save a copy of this [Codecs] directory. Because it\'ll somehow disappear when RealPlayer is installed, or you install K-Lite after RealPlayer, this folder won\'t exist (I don\'t remember clearly).
3) Then, install RealPlayer. As expected, WMP and MPC cannot play rmvb/rm properly (without sound, missing RealAudio COOK)
4) Go Control Panel -> System -> Advanced tab -> [Environment Variables] -> edit Path
Add the following path:
%path%;C:\\Program Files\\K-Lite Codec Pack\\Real\\Codecs
Adding the above path, [Codecs] folder is visiable to Windows. Now you try to play rmvb/rm with WMP and MPC, it will play smoothly again.

Can anyone work on in windows 7 x64?
Works great! However, the latest version is 18.104.22.168
GOM player is 1 of the best players I have encountered but it seems to have problems with codecs and always show the error "Codec missing" for whatever video I played n when I closed it, the video was played but there is no audio.Could anybody help?
Do NOT follow the instructions posted by AndidewA. It will cause major problems.
Adding support for RealMedia playback is easy. Simply install "Real Alternative (Lite)", or follow the instructions from the K-Lite FAQ.
I just found out that the installer also adds an extension to Firefox (Interest Recognizer For Moovida) that has the uninstall option greyed out!! I had to completely uninstall Moovida to remove the add-on from my browser!
I can NOT recommend this crap to any one.
Stay away. Far, far away.
