helped. downloaded the first link with the latest to the current moment option (2.5.33) and my windows media player now sees the video and can play it

This worked for me on Windows 11 and allowed me to view an iPhone modified video which wouldn't previously play back on my PC. I think it's the same as the Microsoft AppStore download, but it's free. I resent paying Microsoft $1 for something which should be included in Windows.
