Doesn't work! I payed gomplayer plus. On their site I didn't find a way to ask back the money! Just a piece of nuts!
Not worth the time to download.
Proper DVD codecs are missing and there is no help trying to find what needs to be fixed.

I wish it had a rating or worthless liars.
It says it can play m4v files but when I try to play my apple itunes m4v file it does nothing - and support wow just incredible basically a robot sending the same email over and over.
If you want to throw away our money then buy buy buy otherwise go somewhere else this software is basically a minor video player you get with any computer.

Since the latest versions forced ad pop us at closing, I just removed and reinstalled old version, free of that bullnuts! And it works nicely...
However, as some have mentioned, despite the many nice things Gom has to offer, nowadays, there are better players out there, ads free and without "codec missing" excuses and the alike!
Gom does not play mkv files subtitles.
While gom definitely looks the best of all players, you will one day realize that certain subs are missing while watching stuff. i find this very risky.
I use CCCP (combined community codec pack)and mkv subtitles work just fine for me.
But now... the last version of GOM cannot be used on your computer. I am done with GOM.

You need to install CoreAAC-2.3.0.573 the latest audio codec for GOM player to fix the "inaudible" audio on the player. This works for me alright!
Stuck with Windows 8, so I had to try GOM out.
GOM has no audio when playing DVDs. Tried downloading who knows what to get it right, tried playing around with the preferences. Still no audio.
I can only get audio if I click into each .Vob of the DVD, but the video is extremely pixelated and the audio is way off.
Better media players out there where I can simply play a DVD without frustration. GOM is probably the worst media player I've ever downloaded.
i was not able to get sound from the latest version of GOM, but then i right clicked on the fdd icon in the notification area and selected "dolby decoder". then the sound came.
to get the fdd*** icon in the notification area , select preferences, filter, Go to Advanced Settings tab.
then,on the "Filter Rendering Method" check the "Advanced" box. On "Filter Priority", click on the "Add Filter" and then chose fdd audio decoder.
Pop-up after closing Gom have been removed and still having problem with playing realmedia (.rm .rmvb) video even after install Real Alternative.
But now I found a workaround to play .rm video as follows:
1. Open Gom Player.
2. Right click and choose "Preferences...".
3. Choose "Filter" from left pane.
4. Go to "Advanced Settings" tab.
5. On "Filter Rendering Method" check on Advanced.
6. On "Filter Priority", click "Add Filter".
7. Locate and choose "MPC-Real Video Decoder" before click OK.
8. Then set its "Condition" to Highest.
9. Finally close preferences and play .rm file.
MUCH obliged! Solved my problems!♥

The new versions just keep getting better, but it would be nice if you could stop taking one-step back.
1) The new feature of freely giving users "pop-up" ads whenever we exit GOM Player...not useful. It cheapens your product, but, if it keeps GOM free, I can live with it. How many users even pay attention to the ads? I sure don't.
2) Oh joy, we get more codec issues. A few of the new HD WMV videos will not play and issues an error stating I don't have the necessary codec to play. (VLC, WMP, and others don't have any problems.) I tell it to find the fix, and it does, and then issues the same error next time.
Do keep up the good work. I can't live without many of the features that make GOM the best choice for a media player. One day, you will have a real great product without any issues.
I installed the latest version and now get "pop-up" ads whenever I exit GOMPlayer.
Sad to see such a nice piece of software sink so low.
use vlc and download it from videolan .org. Better than Gomplayer and no spyad ware bundled.

I'm torn with this player. Love the ease of use and it usually doesn't have to many errors but the nagging compressed mkv audio issue has really just gotten on my last nerve. Can't one of your programmers tweak this issue. I get a lot of files compressing mkv and this player has no audio for them.
What's the use of any player if you need another player to offset all the things another player won't do. VLC plays everything (ugly as hell though).
I remember when you introduced me to GOM Player. I remember so many things about you that I miss.

why my GOM player cannot run a MP4 files it always say "you don't have necessary codec to play please click bla bla bla bla bla but i have downloaded the codec
GOM PLAYER CAN'T PLAY ANYTHING, ANYMORE!!!
ALWAYS SHOWING CODEC MISSING ERROR.
When I download the missing codec, there is no way to tell what to do with the downloaded "ax" files.
IT USED TO BE A NICE PLAYER.

@brian
Check FAQ from gomlab .com
See "DVD is not playing correctly."
It explains how to import the codec to play DVD
I hope it works for you!
I downloaded mpeg2ds because my GOM player said I was missing a codex to play a dvd I just put into my laptop. Then what? Do I place it in a certain place on my computer. Its not an executable so I couldnt just launch it. Help anyone?
This is an excellent player. I have used many other players like VLC, KMplayer, BSplayer ... etc but GOM is on Top. Especially for video effects and subtitles. And it allow moving by key frames which results in smooth playing.
PS:
Gom Player 2.1.25.5015 and Gom Player 2.1.24.5013 have problems. Please Use Gom Player 2.1.21.4846, its a perfect release.

Can anyone help me please???
My windows is Vista Home Premium.
Tks.
Thanx a million, Jason for this...
running xp profesional,
1. PUT YOUR CODEC INTO A BRAND NEW FOLDER
2. Go to "Organize" should be on the upper right hand corner of the folder
3. Click on "Folder and Search Options"
4. Click on the "View" tab
5. Scroll down to the folder "Hidden files and folders" and uncheck "dont show hidden files..." and check "show hidden files..."
6. right below that UNCHECK "hide extensions for known file types"
7. Now click ok and go back to the folder.
8. You should see sth like dtsfilter.download, right click on the file and choose "Rename"
9. Rename the codec file to "codecfile.exe"***
***example dont rename dtsfilter.download to codecfile.exe but rename the dtsfilter to dtsfilter.exe...in short only change the file extensions***

Stand on your head...
Oh come on you knew someone was going to say it.
Frankly I have yet to find one thing that I like about GOM.
MPHC still much better, heck even Jet Audio is better.

the videos played in my gom were always stuck.. it's not as smooth as it used to be.. can somebody tell me why and how to settle this please?
@ Adriana
I've got the same problem like you. My Gom player can open the MKV video yet there is no sound.
It seems that the gom player cant play ripped/ compressed version of MKV properly.
I have another non-ripped/compressed MKV files and it just plays perfectly using gomplayer.
I wonder why gom couldnt play compressed MKV smoothly.
*Instead you can use Media Player Classic to open this so-called compressed MKV and it works perfectly for me with the sound on. cheers
Hey, I am using GOM for a long time, but I've re-installed Windows on my computer and, thus, GOM-Player...and though before it used to open all kind of video formats, now the GOM-Player version 2.21.4846 is giving me the Codec error message when trying to play files like .mkv and .mp4, the files open but there is no sound in it...and when I click on Find Codec, there is none found. What do I have to do? Please help,I really enjoy GOM.

@ gizmo:
Gom player is awesome but it dosnt have built in rmvb codec so the fix for your problem is
1.install real alternative (http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Real_Alternative.htm) or
2.re-install in you have already installed!
This problem also occured to me! and I found out that its not a problem of gom, but a problem of Real alternative/real (rmvb) codec!
It's a great player which plays all major format.
But yesterday, i don't know why, but it stopped playing RMVB format. I had played one RMVB clip few days back on GOM, but yesterday same or other clip would not open. I tried to re-stall it also, but same issue.
Last major updation, was installing IE 8.
If someone can tell what may be issue & how to overcome it?
Thanks
