Screen Capture Like a Pro

Just downloaded Kalmuri and ready to start capturing?

This guide gets you capturing screenshots and recording videos in under 5 minutes.

Initial Setup

1. Extract Kalmuri from the downloaded ZIP file to any folder.
2. Run Kalmuri.exe - no installation needed (if you download the portable version).
3. Check system tray - Kalmuri icon appears in bottom-right corner.
4. Right-click the tray icon to access settings and options.

Taking Screenshots

Method 1: Default Hotkey

• Press Print Screen key to capture entire screen.
• Screenshot automatically saves to your chosen folder.
• File appears in PNG format by default.

Method 2: Custom Capture

• Double-click in Kalmuri tray icon.
• Select from Capture drop-down menu:
• Choose from:
  • Full Screen - captures everything.
  • Active Window - captures active window only.
  • Region - drag to select specific area.
  • etc.

Recording Videos

First-time setup:

1. Download FFmpeg separately.
2. Extract FFmpeg to same folder as Kalmuri.
3. Restart Kalmuri to enable video recording.

Start recording:

• Double-click in Kalmuri tray icon.
• Select Video Recording → Start
• Choose recording area (full screen or region).
• Press hotkey or use tray menu to stop.

Recording options:

• Include/exclude audio.
• Show/hide mouse cursor.
• Select frame rate and quality.

Customizing Settings

Right-click tray icon → Settings to modify:

Hotkeys: Change Print Screen to any key combination.

File Format: Switch between PNG, JPG, BMP, GIF, WEBP.

Save Location: Choose different folders for screenshots/videos.

File Naming: Customize timestamp and naming patterns.

Quick Upload & Sharing

Direct upload:

• Capture screenshot normally.
• Right-click tray icon → Upload to Imgbox
• Link automatically copied to clipboard.

Print directly:

• Take screenshot.
• Right-click tray icon → Send to Printer
• Choose printer and print settings.

Troubleshooting Tips

Video recording not working: Ensure FFmpeg is in the same folder as Kalmuri.

Hotkeys not responding: Check if another program is using the same key combination.

Files not saving: Verify write permissions in your chosen output folder.
