Google has launched Flow, a new AI-powered video creation tool that lets users make short films and video clips.
The platform combines several of Google's AI technologies, including their Veo video generator, Imagen for images, and Gemini for understanding text prompts.
What Flow Can Do
Users can create video content by typing descriptions in plain English - no technical expertise required.
The tool includes features like camera angle controls, the ability to extend existing clips, and ways to keep characters consistent across different scenes.
There's also a gallery called Flow TV where people can browse videos made by others and see the prompts used to create them.
How to Get It
Flow is available now to Google AI Pro and Google AI Ultra subscribers in the US, with plans to expand to other countries later.
Pro subscribers get 100 video generations per month, while Ultra subscribers get more usage and access to newer features like AI-generated audio.
Real Filmmaker Projects
Google worked with several filmmakers to test the tool, including Dave Clark who used it for short films called "Battalion" and "NinjaPunk," and Henry Daubrez who created a film called "Kitsune." These collaborations helped Google understand how filmmakers actually want to use AI tools.
