The x64 version offered for download here is actually a Portable release. No installer is used.

Admin's note: it has been updated. Thanks!

Was concerned at the agreement at the beginning dealing with Somoto. Going with another Codec pack.

"SOMOTO provides a software pack (the "Filebulldog Pack" or "Pack") that enables partners (as defined below) to distribute it browser toolbar. The Filebulldog Pack is available after authorization is granted from SOMOTO that can be contacted at support@somoto.com ."

Compared to some other Codec packs, this is a miserable one. It used to be good, not any more. Seems made for idiots.

Use to love this codec pack, but uninstall, then reinstall the 32 and 64bit copdec pack its kinda tedious, lately i just update the LAV filters, MadVR and Media Player Classic HC.

Used to be a fan of this codec package, but the cumbersome upgrade process (save config -> uninstall -> reinstall) for minor codec upgrades made this a pain to maintain. It works well, I suppose, but I'm finding a lot more flexibility with just installing FFDShow, LAVFilters and Media Player Classic.

You also don't have to worry about unchecking spyware/adware each time you install, which you do with Windows 7 Codecs
