Free USA IPTV Playlist: The American TV That Is Really Free

The free American TV that really exists - network news, classic shows, sports channels and over a thousand ad-supported channels - as playlist links you can paste today.

Most free USA IPTV lists promise ESPN, HBO and every local station, and fall apart on the first click.

What really is free in America is the huge world of ad-supported channels from Pluto TV, Samsung TV Plus, Plex and Roku, plus the networks that stream their own news for nothing.

Here are the playlists that carry it, all checked on 6 October 2026, and the popular ones that have quietly died.

The short version

If you just want the channels, install the free services' own apps - the guide is built in and nothing breaks. If you want everything in one player, start with the small Free-TV USA list, then add the Pluto TV and Samsung TV Plus playlists below.

Want the biggest list possible? The iptv-org USA playlist has well over a thousand entries, but expect more dead ones and no TV guide.

Option One: The Official Apps

Every free channel in the playlists below also lives inside its own app, legally, with a working guide and no setup. If you are in the US, this is the route that never breaks.

Pluto TV - hundreds of live channels, from news and classic sitcoms to crime and sport. Get the Pluto TV app.
Tubi - mostly films and series on demand, plus a live TV tab. Get Tubi.
Samsung TV Plus, Plex, The Roku Channel and Xumo Play - all free, all ad-supported, each with its own app on phones and most smart TVs.

The playlists exist for one reason: putting all of those channels into a single player, like TiviMate or VLC, with one guide.

The Best Free USA M3U Playlists

1. Free-TV USA - small, clean, guide included. About thirty hand-picked channels, including ABC News, CBS News, NBC News, Bloomberg, NASA TV, Court TV and WeatherNation.

The Free-TV project keeps only channels that work, and a TV guide is written into the file - a heavy one, so on a TV stick swap it for the single US guide file if it loads slowly.

2. iptv-org USA - the biggest list. Well over a thousand entries from the iptv-org project, sorted into groups like News, Movies, Sports, Kids and Legislative. It has no TV guide built in, so add the free US guide address from our free EPG links page.

3. The free streaming services, as playlists. A community project on GitHub rebuilds these every day from each service's public channel list, with the TV guide already attached.

Pluto TV (US):

Samsung TV Plus (US):

Plex (US):

The Roku Channel:

Worth knowing about these four:

They are unofficial - built by volunteers from data the services publish, not by Pluto, Samsung, Plex or Roku. Many of the streams only play from an American internet connection, and a service can change its setup overnight, so keep the official app as your backup.

The Pluto TV Link Everyone Copies Is Dead

For years the go-to free Pluto TV and Samsung TV Plus playlists lived at i.mjh.nz, and most free USA IPTV pages still print those addresses.

They now return a 404 error. The project behind them stopped publishing playlists and only offers TV guide files today, which is why the lists above use a different source.

What You Will Find, and What You Will Not

Network news streams - ABC News, CBS News and NBC News all run free 24-hour channels.
Weather, business and science - WeatherNation, Bloomberg and NASA TV.
Classic TV, films, crime, cooking and comedy channels by the hundred.
Sports channels from the leagues themselves - when we checked, the free lineups included NFL Channel, The NBA Channel, MLB and PGA Tour.

The lists we left out

ESPN, HBO, AMC, cable news and live local network channels are paid, so any free list carrying them is passing on somebody else's subscription. Those links die within days, and the sites behind them love to push fake player downloads.

If a USA playlist promises thousands of premium channels, arrives through a link shortener or asks you to install a special app, close the tab. Every list on this page carries free channels only.

Your Local Channels: Use an Antenna

Your local ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and PBS stations broadcast free over the air, and an indoor antenna plugged into the TV picks them up for nothing, in full quality.

No IPTV playlist does this reliably. A few stations stream their own newscasts, which is why some turn up in the iptv-org list, but full live local TV is an antenna job.

Outside the US?

The free services stream a different lineup in each country, and their American channels usually refuse to play elsewhere. That is the most common reason a Pluto TV channel works for your friend and not for you.

Swap _us in the address for your country - Pluto TV also offers gb, ca, de, fr, es, it, mx and br, and Samsung TV Plus offers gb, ca, de, fr, es, it, in and kr. For everything else, our free IPTV playlist guide has lists for every country.

Test It, Then Load It

Before you load a big list onto the TV, paste its address into the M3U Checker. It tests every channel from your own connection and exports a clean copy with only the ones that answered, which matters here because so much depends on where you are.

Then paste the address, or the clean file, into your player. Our list of the best free IPTV players shows the easiest one for each device, and sports fans should also see our free sports playlist guide.

Quick questions

Is a free USA IPTV playlist legal?

The ones on this page are. They only point at channels their owners stream for free - network news, public channels and the free ad-supported services. A list carrying ESPN or HBO for free is not.

Can I get ESPN or Fox Sports free on IPTV?

Not the main channels - those are paid. The free services do carry sports channels such as NFL Channel, The NBA Channel and FOX Sports, and our free sports playlist guide lists the legal ones.

Why will the Pluto TV channels not play?

Most likely you are outside the US. Pluto TV and the other free services only stream their American lineup to American connections, so use the playlist for your own country instead.

Do these playlists include my local ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX station?

Rarely. A few stations stream their news online, but live local channels are free over the air - an indoor antenna is the reliable way to get them.

Why is there no TV guide with the iptv-org list?

That list ships without one. Add the free US guide address from our EPG guide in your player's settings and most channels fill in.

How often do these playlists change?

The FAST playlists rebuild every day and the other two change most weeks. Add them as links rather than downloaded files, and your player picks up the changes on its own.

Free American TV is real - it just lives in the ad-supported apps, not in a list promising ESPN.

Start with Free-TV USA, add the Pluto TV and Samsung TV Plus lists, and test them from your own connection before the TV gets them. Found a US list we missed? Tell us in the comments.
