The Canopus DV Codec enables you to play and import DV videos no matter what media player you use.
The developers of this codec recommend you not to deploy the application if you already have installed to your computer software such as DV Rex M1, DV Raptor, RexFX, EZDV and Xplode.
If your machine doesn’t have the tools mentioned above, with the Canopus DV Codec you will be able to play Canopus DV AVI files.
Playback performance depends on your computer’s CPU speed.
Another thing you need to know is that changing the FOURCC to dvsd and editing the AVI file will allow you to play videos with other codecs, too.
Canopus DV Codec is necessary only for Canopus DV AVI files.

Confirmed as working. I edited a bunch of video using Canopus hardware which I've long since stopped using. I installed this codec on Win 7 64 bit and can watch all the old avi files no problem.
