Windows Media Video 9 VCM

Updated: 30 Jan 2004

Windows Media Video 9 VCM allows you to work with legacy encoding and editing applications in AVI file containers.
The best experience with Windows Media Audio and Video 9 Series codecs used to be possible only by using the ASF file container.

Due to this tool, the two codecs can be used in other file containers as well, such as AVI.

By installing this package to your computer, you will also enable Windows Media Video 9 to be played back in Windows Media Player.

Furthermore, legacy solutions will immediately become able interact with the codec via the VCM interface. Users can adjust compression options utilizing the included property page.

The last release of the Windows Media Video 9 VCM was launched in 2004, and it was tested with Windows 98SE, Windows ME, Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000 and Windows XP.
