Class Not Registered (0x80040154): Why the Usual Fix Fails

Not much of a Windows fan...it is stuff like this, unexplained errors, that drives me nuts. Even less of a MAC fan, though. Thank you for your help. I can hear my airhorn sfx now.

TRIED THE SUGGESTION BUT THEN ENCOUNTERED ANOTHER CODE ERROR. STILL HAVE NOT RESOLVED THE PROBLEM. THANKS FOR THE HELP ATTEMPT ANYWAY

This did the trick, I had given up on using the Media player. I use it mainly to create playLists and load it to my Walkman. Thank You!

A miracle!! Wow! As others above I had frustratingly tried for weeks down many sidetracks!!
It took a couple of goes but it worked. I think I wasn't leaving a space after the '...32'.

For info and possibly help, maybe not related, my trouble began after I installed Nero 10 Multimedia Suite. It did not run - as with my other Multimedia players - except like 'WMV Maniac' above, for VLC . Again thanks a million. Now to try Windows Movie Maker which also had 'died' :-))
