Avid AVI CoDec is enabling you to play uncompressed files as well as media contents at various levels of compression.
A less known codec and using a method not usually found in other products, Avid AVI CoDec expresses compression through ratios rather than through percentages or data rates (a common method within Avid products and high-end video, but rarely found elsewhere).
This codec is recommended when you have to transfer material to or from Avid systems; in other cases it is not the best choice.
