IPTV Extreme is a free IPTV player for Android TV and phones that turns your own M3U link, Xtream Codes login or MAG portal into a TV guide with recording, and keeps every feature free, with Pro only removing the ads.

IPTV Extreme is an empty TV by design: it ships with no channels at all, and it comes alive the moment you give it a playlist.

Everything that matters is in the free app, including the TV guide, recording, parental control and Chromecast, and the paid Pro edition exists only to remove the ads.

Version 131.0 needs Android 7.0 or newer and runs on phones, tablets and Android TV boxes.

What IPTV Extreme Actually Does

IPTV simply means TV delivered over your internet connection instead of an aerial or a cable. A provider, or a free public source, gives you a playlist: a list of channel links, most often as an M3U file. If that term is new, What Is an M3U File? explains it in two minutes.

IPTV Extreme reads that list, sorts the channels into groups and lines them up against a TV guide, so you get the familiar grid of what is on now and next. It is made by Italian developer Paolo Turatti.

Playback runs through two built-in players, Advanced and Light. If a channel stutters or refuses to open in one, switching to the other is the first thing worth trying. On top of live TV you can record streams, set timers, download on-demand programmes and set a reminder for a show you spotted in the guide.

Three Ways to Load a Playlist

IPTV services hand out access in one of three shapes, and IPTV Extreme accepts all of them. Pick the one that matches what you were given.

  • An M3U link or file - a single web address or a small file listing every channel. This is the most common format and works in almost any player.
  • An Xtream Codes login - a server address, a username and a password instead of one long link. The guide Xtream Codes explained covers why many providers prefer it.
  • A MAG or Stalker portal - a login style built for MAG set-top boxes, made of a portal address plus the MAC address (a device ID) your provider registered. Version 131.0 adds advanced MAG settings for fine-tuning these connections.

Have an Xtream login but want a plain M3U link for a second app? The URL to M3U converter builds one in the browser. To assemble a list of your own streams from scratch, use the M3U Playlist Builder.

Setting It Up on an Android TV Box

  • Install IPTV Extreme from this page's download link or from Google Play. When sideloading on a TV box, allow installs from unknown sources for the app you use to open the file.
  • Open the app menu, go to Playlists and add a new playlist.
  • Choose the type that matches your details - a file or link, an Xtream Codes login or a MAG portal - then give it a name and paste in the details.
  • Wait while the channel list and guide data load. A large playlist can take a few minutes the first time.
  • Open a channel group and pick a channel.
Save your thumbs

Typing a long playlist link with a TV remote is nobody's idea of fun. The developer's own IPTV Extreme portal lets you add a playlist from a phone or computer browser instead, matched to your box by the MAC address shown inside the app.

The TV Guide Is the Real Feature

The EPG, short for electronic programme guide, is the part that makes IPTV Extreme feel like a set-top box rather than a list of links. Guide providers come preloaded, the data refreshes automatically, and you can combine more than one guide source.

When the guide calls a channel something slightly different from your playlist, alias management lets you tell the app they are the same channel. Picons, the small channel logos next to each name, are supported in several sizes.

Two small settings make a real difference on a TV. Autostart on boot opens the app when the box powers on, and parental control lets you restrict what children can open.

What Is New in 131.0, in Plain English

The 131.0 release notes list WireGuard VPN support, an improved DNS over HTTPS function, the advanced MAG settings, a fix for Turkish channel groups, and updated player libraries. The last one is the quiet win, since newer playback libraries often help with streams that previously refused to start.

A VPN routes your connection through an encrypted tunnel to another server, and WireGuard is a modern, fast type of VPN. DNS over HTTPS encrypts the address lookups the app makes, so your internet provider cannot read those lookups or block servers by name.

The developer marks WireGuard as a feature of the APK version, the build distributed outside Google Play. If you installed from the Play Store and cannot find the option, that is the reason.

Free or Pro: What the Money Buys

The free app shows ads. IPTV Extreme Pro is a separate paid app on Google Play, and the developer lists exactly two extras for it: no ads, and a big thank-you. Every playback, guide and recording feature is the same in both.

That is an unusually honest split for this category. TiviMate and OTT Navigator both keep some features behind a paid tier, while IPTV Extreme charges a small one-off price purely to switch the ads off.

Because Pro installs as its own app, back up your settings with the built-in Backup and Restore before you move across. That saves re-entering every playlist by hand.

About 'Pro unlocked' APKs

Modded copies of IPTV Extreme Pro are rebuilt by someone other than the developer and signed with a different key. They cannot update over the real app, and you have no way to see what else was changed.

Drop any IPTV Extreme file into the APK Checker before installing: the signing certificate on a genuine build names Paolo Turatti. For a box without Google Play, Play Store Check tells you whether an APK will launch without it.

Where to Get Something to Watch

IPTV Extreme contains no channels, and the developer states plainly that he does not provide playlists or tips on finding them. You bring the content, so make sure it comes from a service licensed to offer it.

For free and legal viewing, free popular IPTV playlists points to community lists of free-to-air channels that broadcasters put online themselves. The IPTV Channel Finder lets you filter those by country or category and export your own M3U.

Before loading a big list, run it through the M3U Checker. Dead links make the channel list slow to load and leave you flicking through black screens.

Who Should Look Elsewhere

IPTV Extreme suits people who want every feature without a subscription and can live with ads, or pay once to lose them. A few readers are better served by something else.

  • You want the most polished cable-box look on a big screen and do not mind paying: TiviMate is the specialist, though it has vanished from the Play Store more than once.
  • Your provider's setup email names IPTV Smarters: IPTV Smarters Pro is the app those instructions are written for.
  • You also want local files, network shares and add-ons in the same app: Kodi for Android is a full media centre with IPTV as one part.
  • You only need to test a single stream link quickly: VLC for Android opens it with no setup.
  • You prefer a live TV player from an established desktop family: ProgTV for Android is the Android side of ProgDVB.
  • Your device runs Android 6 or older. Check the About screen in Settings - below 7.0, version 131.0 will not install.
