What the Heck? I was so pleased to be able to finally play a concert video hidden on a CD from 2000--after following advice and downloading KMPlayer. But it only worked once!! I can not recreate the conditions, nor can I get it to work on XP Windows Media Player. That device continually tells me that I do not have the correct codec.

Like Christina (15 July 2009), I would like to have WMP recognize the codec. Tweak Tools from K-Lite also could not help. I have been able to get the VIDEO to play in WinAmp, but with NO AUDIO... HELP!! PS. Does all of the advice about .inf files and copying to the C: drive no longer apply now that we have .exe files?

I could not get any of the advice about "voxacm file set up," nor "Run as Administrator" to apply to my situation. Is that advice out of date?

Doesn't do anything and there are no inf files.

The other comment about audacity is totally incorrect. It will not import/play undf. try the tutorial "flight of the bumblebee" from monkeyseemonkey do site.

Stupid YouTube using crappy bloody codecs!

I went on another way. I have installed K-Lite Codec Pack on my system and went to Codec Tweak Tool and there enabled all Vox codecs in the codecs tree. And sound appeared! :D

This codec DOES work with Vista 32-bit Home Premium. Download the installer and unzip it to a folder - all on the desktop. Go into the unzipped folder, called voxware_audio. Right-click the file voxware_audio.exe and select "Run as administrator". The codecs will then be installed.

However not all media players seem to make use of them - not a fault of the codecs though. I always use "The KMPlayer" (not to be confused with kmplayer!). It's a grat player. Cheers, Chris :0)

This worked for me (Vista 32bit). I had to actually unzip if first, ran as administrator, and then use Media Player Classic though. Still doesn't work with Windows Media Player though. Thanks.

Working in Vista x64.

Just extract it into player folder (I'm use KMPlayer) and run the following command in cmd shell:

regsvr32 "c:\Program Files (x86)\The KMPlayer\voxmsdec.ax"

It does not support windows vista. I didnt realize that. also, once you download and try to install it WILL NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES ALLOW YOU TO DELETE IT.

Even if you do not have vista there is no voxacm.inf

I can only assume this is some sort of malicious software.

Even if you change the name of the files and folders you still cannot delete it.

DO NOT USE THIS.

Works on XP does not work on Vista 32-bit. I need to use this for educational videos for a $20,000 laser welder and it figures that my work computer is running Vista. Please notify me when you catch up with Microsoft's technology.
