Ive downloaded and installed this codec many times (I work at a helpdesk), but Ive been recieving ph calls today to say the install is now not working. Ive tried on my machine and all of a sudden its not working anymore?
Does anyone know a reason for this?
Has something changed in the codec?

Inf-install didnt work on my xp-system, just wanted to watch my episodes so i manually registered the 2 *.ax files with the regsvr32 command after i put them in the system32 directory:
syntax (when in the system32 dir in a prompt):
regsvr32.exe voxmsdec.ax
regsvr32.exe voxmvdec.ax
undoing this: (in case of trouble)
regsvr32 /u voxmsdec.ax
etc.
u see... no installer needed (for decoding this works, dont know for coding)

Wonderful! Brief illustrated guide quite helpful too for a step by step no hassle installation. Couldn't play some Star Trek Voyager episodes I had and all the Microsoft Media Player help center could offer at best was that the codec was missing... ...without mentionning of course where in the cyberspace void I could find it!
Thanks a lot for this bijou!

You have to unzip it then decompress it - its a 2 steps process people. Good luck!
It works a treat.....

I'll give it a 5 cause it apparently works based on the testimonials here. Problem is, I can't get it to install on my computer. Keeps saying I need IE 3.0 or higher. I don't know what the browser has to do with me installing the codec. And I have IE 6 installed anyway. I'm trying to view some educational videos for class but I guess that won't be happening. Verdammt noch mal!

Excellent -- the old codec 75 problem solved at last (fingers crosssed). Have just played a South Park episode I've been trying to watch for weeks but couldn't without 75. Thanks for being here.

You can use a program called winrar to extract the files (its availible to download for free, just search for it on google) then just select the folder, right click, click extract to the specified folder, and pick wherever you want to put it. Then go to that folder, find the file with the .inf extention, right-click, and click install, there you go. joe, it took longer for you to complain about ppl that don't know how to install codecs than it took me to explain. Besides, you're just whining about whiners...hypocrite

Enough is enough!
All you people out there whinging that they don't know how to find the install button is getting tiresome..
SIMPLE FACT: If you don't know what a codec is, or for that matter, how to install an .inf file DON'T DO IT!
Straight off the ball, I downloaded (on an xp system) extracted and installed this little baby and there was NO PROBLEMS.. I feel sorry for the makers of this GREAT codec and moderators of this forum... Imagine having to put up with a whinging bunch of losers like this..
To the makers of the VoxWare MetaSound Audio CoDec: Thankyou... GREAT encoding rates with this wonderful codec!
Cheers!

Some people have problems with the installation because they DO NOT decompress the file. You actually have to do this in order to see the install icon when you right click. Once you do this, it will work perfect.

Using .inf to install doesn't work on all winxp systems. Get an actual install program (an .exe).
