I am back trying to work with Alt again. As bad as it was I tried using 6 again of the real QT. All was well until it updated and then crashed every time it open (instead of refreshing the screen every 5 secs) I guess apple wanted me to buy the latest version. Then I inserted a multisession cda with mac movies and it restarted my puter. SHINE THOSE IDIOTS AT APPLE! Hopefully alt for most and those with no sound imtoo mov converter. And u know that little player is the shishnik!

Another warning: Do not attempt to uninstall this thing in safe mode - it simply won't do it. If you've uninstalled w/ ANY browser windows open, it will finish the uninstall and then tell you some components couldn't be removed (but with no hint as to what).
At this point, iTunes will be hosed.
Things started getting bad for me when iTunes brought down the latest update, as it surely includes a fresh install of QT.
You must restart. Reinstall it. Restart again. Turn off any anti-virus and close ALL browser windows - then uninstall again.
Then you should be ok. Reinstall iTunes/QT and you should be good.
At this point, iTunes will be hosed.

It's crap. Sorry, but I'll stick w/ the QT "nag" buttons as opposed to having this thing hose my system as it did. iTunes is now hosed after the "uninstall" of QT Alternative. Tried reinstalling QT/iTunes twice, no love.

http://www .apple .com/ipodnano/features.html seems to crashes Mozilla v1.7.11 in Windows XP Pro. SP2 (all updates). I get:

Cannot believe some of these obvious macheads. You prefer for apple to demand 40 bucks everytime you try to open a movie in that foreign looking/working player?

quicktime alternative
(4/17/05 download,codec version 6.5.1.17) plays my .mov files just fine but whenever those files are copied to cd they will not play properly - some sort of corruption and the best tech I know can't figure it out - what's the fix??

I know Quicktime 7 requires Win 2000/XP, but could it be possible to have the newest versions of Quicktime Alternative running in old systems like Windows 98, 98 SE and Millennium??

does anyone know how to get Windows Movie Maker 2.0 to accept .mov files using this tool? if WMP can now play them (which worked beautifully on my PC) then why can't MM20? this would be utterly fantastic. anyone try?

So when will Win 98 be supported? I like QT alternative very much so it can further itself by extending support to older O/S when others don't.

I really enjoyed QT Alternative versions up to 1.48 but since the betas the MIME-settings in the QT-plugin dont work well. Even if I uncheck everything except QT-movies in QT-plugin it still insists in opening mp3-files with QT instead of IE asking me what to do with the file. I tried several hours to get the MIME-setting back but the only way is to uninstall QT-alternative. Anyone have any ideas?
